A Kentucky man faces murder charges for allegedly watching his mother commit suicide and not doing anything to prevent her death, police said.
Police said Jeffrey Wisecup, 27, didn’t call 911 after witnessing his mom swallow pills and inject herself with insulin in an apparent suicide Oct. 21 at their Winchester home, news station WKYT reported.
The son told investigators that he saw his mom having a seizure on the kitchen floor and dragged her back to her bedroom. The next day, Wisecup found his mother dead, according to officials.
Wisecup then allegedly waited five days before contacting authorities about his mother’s death. During this period, he reportedly continued to go to work and paid visits to the liquor store, WKYT reported.
He eventually opened the windows in the home because of the odor, according to WKYT.
Wisecup was arrested and booked Friday at the Clark County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
