Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., long rumored to be a possible presidential candidate in 2020, said she intends to serve her full six-year term if she wins re-election in November.
Her comments came during a debate Thursday night when she was asked whether she could assure voters she would serve her full term, The Washington Times reported.
“I will,” she said. Pressed by the moderator on the issue, she added: “I will serve my six-year term."
The Hill reported Gillibrand’s Republican opponent, Chele Farley, dismissed Gillibrand’s vow.
“Honestly, I don’t believe that,” she said.
