A new ad by the Republican National Committee is calling the Democrats an “unhinged mob."
The ad includes clips of former Attorney General Eric Holder, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi making controversial remarks about Republicans.
Holder sparked the most recent controversy when he revised former first lady Michelle Obama’s stated advice that “when they go low, we go high.” Instead, he said when Republicans go low, Democrats should “kick them.”
RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel said the ad focuses on the Democrats’ rhetoric and Republicans being confronted by angry protesters. She made her comments during a Friday interview on Fox News Channel's “Fox & Friends.”
“It highlights the dangerous rhetoric of Democrat leaders and then what it is leading to,” she said. “Heidi Cruz and Ted Cruz being attacked at a restaurant. We saw what happened with (Rep.) Steve Scalise. And to see Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton and (Sens.) Cory Booker and Maxine Waters encouraging this type of behavior is leading to an escalation and it could get even more dangerous.
“We need to make sure we’re calling this out. We need a return to civility.”
