A Florida high school coach was banned from teaching after he allegedly told a player to “commit suicide” and acted aggressive towards other students, according to reports.
Randal Gene Owens, an assistant coach at Palatka High School, was accused of being abusive to several players, including a 16-year-old he allegedly head-butted, according to a Florida Department of Education administrative complaint.
The complaint revealed Owens told a student that he was not a good player and “should commit suicide,” First Coast News reported on Wednesday.
In another incident, he stood on a restroom toilet seat and watched over the stall as a 16-year-old used the bathroom.
“I feel like he was a real danger not only to my son, but to other kids at the school,” a football player’s mother told First Coast News.
Owens was also a dean and physical education teacher at the school before he resigned in December 2017. His teaching license was permanently revoked in June.
